I’m thinking about buying an electric ready-to-run radio-controlled car but I don’t like the trigger-type radios.
Is it possible to buy a traditional box-type radio separately and use it in place of the trigger radio or can a radio only be used with that car?
Yes, you can use pistol type or the normal stick type radios.
When you buy the rc car (if you’re buying from a hobby shop), ask the guy behind the counter if he could change the handset for you to the stick type transmitter.
Any hobby shop will be happy to help you, and more importantly will be happy to have your custom (and money) so they should do it.
A buddy of mine found this car still in its box unopened. We pulled it out, charged the battery overnight, new batteries in the remote. When I go ahead and press the remote it does not move at all, it makes a fast clicking noise in the car. I was brushing up on Electric RC cars and I caught something having to do with something not catching a gear or maybe something could be loose. Sort of hard to believe considering since it was bought its been stored away for about 5 years. This is an Orange Toyota Supra from the first film Fast and The Furious. model # RC-16ff. I Don’t have the box on me to tell you the name of the toy company. If anyone has information about what could be wrong/ how to fix please let me know. Thank You!

what is better a rear wheel drive or front wheel drive for a rc car
This is dependent upon the terrain
you are driving on
or the type of racing you prefer …
What you need to know is basically an r/c is
layed out the same as a normal size vehicle –
what that means is the cars handle in a way
much like their "big brothers"

I grew up playing rc cars my whole life. The best advice I can give is to take it to a hobby shop where they can reccommend a better battery. I have not had much experience with Hot Wheels brand RC cars in the past, but I have taken other brands to hobby shops and they are very helpful. I would suggest, though, that once they tell you what battery to use, that you shop around for the best price… hobby shops are very expensive sometimes.
the motor in my electric rc car keeps heating up very quickly how do i stop this happening.
splash water on it
I have a electric rustler and stampede and i was wondering if i could make them sound like a nitro rc car
probably not. unless you put a speaker on it with but that would be pretty dumb. just go nitro. the technology may not be keeping up but it is more of a hobby, a lot more fun, and you get the sound you want.
Some smoke came from motor area only very small amount, but it will brake normally going forward.
Hi,
I assume you are using an electronic speed controller? But firstly, if some smoke has come from your motor then you may have burnt out the bushes.
One possible reason that it may not go backwards is if your speed controller is faulty.
My advice is if you are having problems, take it to your local model shop who should beable to help.

For drifting it has to be electric. I have tried both and nitro just isn’t in the same league. Although nitro may have more power, they don’t put the power down as fast as an electric can, thus making it harder to spin the wheels and ultimately drift.
People will tell you nitro has a higher top speed (which is true) however top speed doesn’t mean anything when it comes to drifting because they are meant for going sideways not in a straight line and therefor never reach there top speed.
So in conclusion for drifting electric is your best bet : )
This is a model i know to be very good if you need any ideas :
