if you have a car thats like the handle to roll down the window, can you somehow fit electric windows??
if so, how and where can i buy a kit or something??
autoloc makes them…….

I’m looking to get a bluetooth car kit for my ‘02 Mazda 323f. It’s got the original stereo system so i want something subtle to fit in with what’s already there and without any wires. I also have an iPod touch which i’d like to use with it as well if possible.
Are there any good spots in the UK who could do installations as well (based in the North West)? I’ve got friends who’d done auto electrics on my old jeep but i’m not sure they’d do such a clean job on my daily car.
Many places will fit a handsfree bluetooth kit, but to get MP3 compatibility, you’re best off swapping your head unit for one with bluetooth & MP3 connectivity. That way, you’ll have no wires showing anywhere.
I’ve bought a second-hand Ford Ka Now 2001 and wondered whether its possible (and how easy it is) to convert to electric windows and central locking.
I’ve seen the universal kits you can buy for both but am a car novice - would it take a mechanic long? Would I need to replace the car door cards or any other parts?
Thanks for the help,
Laura
It will cost a lot of money to convert it and new wiring, you probably looking at a couple of grand to do it.
i have decided i want to buy a remote controlled car kit and assemble it myself… i don’t want to buy one that is ready to go out of the box… i’ve read online that beginners should stick with electric cars and move to nitro after they’ve got some experience… i’m not to picky as to whether i build a street car or an off-road car, i just want to build the thing and make it work… do you have any suggestions for me?.. any ideas that i should consider before i buy a kit?.. do you have any good suggestions as to what type of kit i should buy and what i can expect to pay?.. do you know of any reliable websites that sell kits?.. can you link me directly to a kit you have built that isn’t too difficult but isn’t for like a 10 year old?.. i’m 30 years old, so a challenge isn’t an issue…
Nitrotek.co.uk are good! they only have like 3 self build kits and they are nitro. anyhow i think u should just buy an electric car take it apart and then put it back together with higher standard parts for your own use and fun
hi i want to build an rc car from a kit but only want remote engine fuel tank motors etc. not the body, wheels and suspension. can be either nitro or electric but where can you get them
No matter what kit you get, you will always get the suspension with it.
You might get the wheels, or you might not. Although it’s not too often you’ll get wheels and tyres together in a build it yourself kit.
As for the body, you’ll get one but you’ll have to paint it yourself.
Some kits are slightly different, but generally you do get those things with it.

I’m thinking of getting a buggy or doing Touring car racing.
I’m wondering what Parts & Accessories I will need.
I know I need things like Battery Packs, spare motors, tyres but what else?
For electric racing in general, a battery charger/discharger would be worth it’s weight in gold. They allow you to always ensure that your batteries are always at their best.
For Touring Car racing, the motors have to be a certain size and type to conform with the race rules so find out what your local track does and go with whichever you feel better with. Certain motors go in different classes. Then find out if it’s either rubber or foam tyres. There are tyre additives you put on foam tyres to help with the grip. But the race organisers will give out control tyres so everyone is on the same tyres. Also, bodyshells have to be cut carefully. Too low and they might be disqualified, same goes with rear spoilers.
Buggies are still limited to the motors, with different motors in different classes and there are different classes for 4 wheel drive and 2 wheel drive. And again, race organisers will give out control tyres depending on the class and type of buggy. But they’re more open with wings and bodyshell types.
But really it’s all about practice and how you set up your car or buggy. And having plenty of spare batteries!
I want to build a nitro buggy from scratch. i think i want to get a kit or something. What is a good one to get, and could i have some links for them. I dont want anything too expensive, although i know they arent cheap. I have built electric cars and trucks before and i want to start building nitro buggies. aslo, any tips for building it would be great!
-Thanks!
Hres a link to get you going

nitro is diffrent then electric. The rtr’s with them are the way to go all the extras will run the price motor radio. well you know
Have Fun

i have cut the wire to the tax disc holder but i dont know what it was for , there was a circuit board in the tax disc holder but all the electrics are ok as is the alarm . can anyone tell me what this wire was for ??? thanks
You dashed fool. That was the automatic tax disc generator lead. Every year your tax disc would electronically update but now you’ll just have to pay for it.
Just wondering how reliable, affordable and efficient the conversion kit places are t hat can make any car into an electric car. I want to have my 00 Buick converted once the engine goes, has anyone done this or have any tips, advice or otherwise useful info on the topic? Any reputable places that professional convert cars and estimated prices to do so..?
I drive an EV conversion, and I love it. You should be aware, however, that a car with automatic transmission is a poor candidate for conversion. The electric motor doesn’t need the transmission, so it will just waste energy. Below is a page with links to electric converter businesses. Converted cars can be had for as little as $5000, though $10000 is a more typical expenditure:

I have been recently been looking into building an electric car. normally the electric car kit is to be used with several 12 volt batteries in sequence to make 144 volts to power the motor. I on the other hand want to use lithium iron batteries (which are really costly) using the same method with the normal car batteries to get better miles. the only problem is that each battery has 3.2 volts. which means to get the required voltage I would normally put them in sequence but for that I would need around fifty and when each battery cost around $450 u.s. it’s very unfordable not to mention the weight over load. that’s why I would like to use something like 10 lithium iron batteries and then have some sort of circuit to increase the 32 volts to 144 volts. sorry for the long question do you have any ideals!
Thanks I for the people who have answered so far, I know a bit about electronics and have some skill in that area so I will take all of your suggestions into account.
Here’s some basic voltage multiplier circuits:

But before going to a lot of trouble for nothing, might want to estimate how much current you’ll need, and consider whether your proposed battery array will be able to deliver.
